The 56-meter long boat sank in a matter of minutes. This is at least what is shown by surveillance video images that captured the tragic moment. While moored about 500 meters off the coast of Porticello, the Bayesian found itself trapped in a marine tornado around 5 a.m. 15 people were rescued, six bodies were found, and one person is still currently missing.
In parallel with the search for the last potential survivor, a team of investigators was sent on site to determine the causes of the shipwreck. To do this, they work closely with the Italians. The main question: how could it sink so quickly when the boats around it were not affected? To answer this, they question the yacht captain and the rescued individuals, in order to reconstruct the facts minute by minute.
