Philippe Diallo, the president of the French Football Federation, has lamented a « hectic schedule » which partially explains the absence of Kylian Mbappé during the gathering of the Blues.
It is without their captain, Kylian Mbappé, that the French team is meeting at Clairefontaine this Monday. Injured in the left thigh on September 24th with Real Madrid, the captain of the Blues played again on October 2nd but did not appear on Didier Deschamps’ list for the Blues gathering, due to an injury not fully healed… before starting this weekend with his club.
This has caused incomprehension. The president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Philippe Diallo, denied the idea of a situation between the different parties. « Didier had directly discussed with him (Mbappé) and with the medical staff of Real Madrid and he decided not to select him, which does not question Kylian’s attachment to the French team, » Diallo said on Franceinfo.
Diallo admits to « pressure exerted by the clubs ».
The FFF boss points out that Mbappé’s teammate at Real, Vinicius, « will not go to play with his Brazilian team either ». The Madrid club mentioned « a neck injury » which occurred against Villarreal last Saturday (2-0). Diallo acknowledges « pressure exerted by the clubs on their players » and points out « a hectic schedule », increasingly criticized. « We must convince the entire football world that coming to the national team is an honor, » Diallo summarizes.
